Another mixed media, painting. The cloud was done with mulberry paper than painted white, there are some under-lying colors. The hearts are made from paper and are attached using a thin gage wire, which I twisted to help thicken up and make the more stable.
I played with the paint colors a few times, which I wish I hadn't because a previous "version" of the "sky" worked much better.
I'm just starting to get back into painting, and the collage art has captured my imagination, so I've just started to explore this futher as well.
Most of my past art experience has been in clay or working with metal in jewerly making classes. I've never done any beading or that type of jewerly. I've mostly made rings that have stones set in them.

raining hearts

I would like to have more detail on how you did that painting...I have never done anything like that before...guaranteed I would like it.
Oh and the rings...you must share a how to...pretty please.
I bought a large canvas (think it was 16X20), then just sort of played with the paint colors, mixing and adding until I got them the way I like them (well I went a little further- and sort of ruined my favorite sky- this one is okay, but it looked a lot smoother before- I think I have a thing against texture sometimes). On the top angled area I used matte medium to glue on layers of mulberry papers- they were all different colors and types- just scrapes I had, so I painted over it with a light blue, once that was dry I painted over it with a white color. For the hearts I just printed up some paper with words- love poems, which I then attached to some die cut hearts that I have. painted them using a pink glaze. I then set some (ugh.. for get the name but they are round with a whole in the middle) in the hearts so I could use wire to attach them. The wire I bought was to light weight so I twisted two strands together, then used a needle to punch a small whole in the canvas to attach the wire to the canvas- which had the hearts attached to it.
